There is less and less time for the opening of the Awards season, where we will have the 73rd edition of the Emmys, where the best of television programming in the United States will be awarded, only what was on the air between June 1, 2020 and May 31 of this year. It is expected that the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences celebrate the event in a completely different way than last year, since it was held in the middle of a tough stage of the Coronavirus pandemic. On that occasion they were victorious Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Strong, Eugene Levy, Chritt’s Creek, Succession, Watchmen and Zendaya, among others.
On July 13, the formal announcement of all the nominees was held, which were presented by the father and daughter duo, Ron Cephas Jones and Jasmine Cephas Jones. The CEO of the Television Academy, Frank Scherman, was also present and before naming the artists he assured: “Television has provided a lifeline for many people around the world this year, providing a constant source of entertainment, information and inspiration during some of our most difficult days.”.
The Crown and The Mandalorian were the series with the most nominations, with 24 in total, followed by WandaVision (23), The Handmaid’s Tale (21), Saturday Night Live (19), Ted Lasso (20), Lovecraft Country (18), Lady’s Gambit (18) and Mare of Easttown (16). Regarding streamig services, HBO / HBO Max leads with 130 nominations, Netflix ranks second with 129, Disney+ with 71 and NBC sum 46. According to official statements, The 73rd Emmy Awards will be on September 19. They will take place at the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles, California, and will be broadcast in the United States on CBS and Paramount +, while in Latin America it will be through the TNT and TNT Series screen.
