White Lotus Season 2: Here’s Everything You Need to Know

The White Lotus was one of last year’s surprises on streaming platforms: arriving without making too much noise, it has gradually become one of the favorites of the year for many series fans, especially because it gives us to see the worst side of wealth and privilege – a bit like Successiondoes, in a less muted genre.

The first season took us to an upscale resort in Hawaii, where Sydney Sweeney (known for her role as Cassie in Euphoria), Jennifer Coolidge, Alexandra Daddario, and Jake Lacy played a privileged group who came to spend a very relaxing holiday in this heavenly place.

But things don’t go as planned, tensions start to rise, fights break out, and an unidentified character ends up dying and virtually “spoiling” the stay of others. This is the event that opens the series that takes us back a few days to show what really happened and reveal the identity of the deceased.

At the end of the sixth and final episode of the series, its creators announced that a second season was already in the works. It will take place not in the same place, but in another luxury resort and in another part of the world, with other characters of terribly dysfunctional rich people, who in turn spend a nightmarish vacation.

When is season 2 of The White Lotus coming out?

The online date of the new season is not yet announced but we should see it arrive at the end of this year or at the beginning of 2023.

What is the new season about?

“There’s no chance we can afford the Four Seasons in Maui again, not in the event of a pandemic,” the show’s creator told Entertainment Weekly. “But it could be something like White Lotus: Kyoto. Which would be fun, because we could address ideas of culture shocks and things like that.”

Casting

The cast of the second season is entirely new and some members have already been announced. First, Michael Imperioli, who appeared in The Sopranos, will this time play the main character of the story, Dominic Di Grasso. Dominic has been described as a man who travels with his elderly father and son, a young graduate. We also expect the awesome Aubrey Plaza, which will play a woman named Harper Spiller, who is on vacation with her husband and a group of friends.

Will someone from the first season return? Nothing has been confirmed, but rumors speak of Jennifer Coolidge while assuming that she will play a different character and will not resume the one she played before.
