Soccer legend Didier Drogba was one of the stars who participated in the ceremony held this Monday at the Chatelet Theater in Paris, where the best footballers of the year were awarded.

Before the gaze of many of the best-known footballers on the planet, Drogba handed Barcelona captain Alexia Putellas the Women’s Golden Ball, but not without first asking her “Who are you?”, followed by an awkward pause. “Let’s find out,” Drogba continued, giving way to a video commemorating the 27-year-old midfielder.

The moment in question can be seen at minute 3:15 of the following video.

The question elicited various reactions and ridicule on social media, as many assumed that the African did not really know who the best player of the year was.

“Drogba is honest, he has never seen women’s football”, commented an user. “He’s so uninterested in giving it to her [el galardón] a Alexia” tweeted other.

This year’s ceremony left a hundred memes and reactions on networks after Lionel Messi was once again crowned the best player in the world, beating Ronaldo by two Ballons d’Or.
