She Reveals the ‘Only Way’ She’d Stay on Reality-TV
Is Kailyn Lowry still a part of Teen Mom 2? After a six-month hiatus from shooting, the reality star returned to the MTV series for the Tuesday, April 5 episode. She answered a fan’s query concerning her future on reality TV the same night.
During an Instagram Story Q&A, a fan asked, “Would you grab the chance for your program if it came up?” “I believe that’s the only way I’d do reality TV going ahead,” Kailyn, 29, said. While she hasn’t officially said if she intends to leave the MTV series permanently, she has previously expressed how tough it has been to take a “six-month sabbatical” from the program.
“I cannot bring myself, right now, to get myself into a mental position where I’m honestly discussing things on camera,” Kailyn said of her time away from the program in a March 2022 edition of her podcast “Baby Mamas No Drama.”
“I’m having a hard time with that,” she said, “since six months seemed like a lifetime.” “It’s tough to put yourself back in the hot seat and film about such personal topics,” the mother of four continued.
After her ex Chris Lopez joined the set, Kailyn intimated she was done with the program.
One fan inquired during an Instagram Q&A in October 2021, “Are you still not filming?” “I haven’t filmed in around three months,” Kail said. “Do you feel anxious about not filming?” another person said. “Are you financially savvy?” “I don’t believe anybody wants to accept a wage decrease,” she said. However, you can’t put a price on happiness.” In August 2021, word of Chris’ MTV deal started to circulate. Kailyn, who has two children with her ex, Lux and Creed, wasn’t unhappy with him filming at the time, but rather with the method she found out.
“Kail was quite furious when she found out Chris is now being paid for starring on the program,” a production insider told The Ashley’s Reality Roundup. “I emailed [one of the higher-up producers] and said it was inconsiderate of them to offer Chris a deal without even giving her the heads-up, particularly after all these years,” she added. “Are you disappointed Chris signed to be on Teen Mom, or are you unconcerned?” a fan questioned Kailyn during a different Q&A on her Instagram Stories on August 16.
“I’m concerned about how it was handled/how I found out and people’s lack of regard for me after 12 years on the program.”
Another fan inquired, “Are you shooting new episodes for TM2?” Kailyn replied, “I am not.”
“I don’t want to miss anything for Lux,” she said on a recent edition of their “Coffee Convos” podcast with co-host Lindsie Chrisley. “I don’t want them to hunt for me and never find me.” Then there’s the part of me that says, “I deserve to be there.” So, why am I unable to do so? On the other hand, Chris does not want me to participate in boxing.”
Chris has said on social media that co-parenting is “better than it used to be” and that it is still a “work in progress.”
