“The predecessors of the Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have passed on their beliefs and knowledge to each of the team members,” Yokoyama said. “You can witness it in the recently released Lost Judgment, and you will also see it in the sequel to Yakuza: Like a Dragon, which the story of Kasuga will continue “.
As stated by the new leader of the developer, the game is currently in development and will feature Hiroyuki Sakamoto as a producer. Ryosuke Horii, Yutaka Ito and Nobuaki Mitake will direct, while Yokoyama himself will write the script with Takeuchi and Furuta.

At the moment, nothing else has been revealed about the game. It is known that the next project will be uncovered in the next few months, perhaps not for a year. Yakuza: Like a Dragon, meanwhile, marked a before and after within the saga, not only because of the change of protagonist, but also because they opted for a JRPG-style turn-based battle system.
