The presence of A- and B-list celebrities on ESPN’s College GameDay is truly remarkable. The show travels to remote college campuses and manages to attract big names who weigh in on the day’s games. In recent years, stars such as Katy Perry, The Rock, Luke Bryan, Glen Powell, Jack Nicklaus, Charles Barkley, Bill Murray, Matthew McConaughey, and Lil Wayne have made their predictions on the show.
Looking ahead to the 2024 season, there are several celebrities that fans hope to see gracing the GameDay desk. Here’s a wishlist, in no particular order:
Taylor Swift
The dream guest for many would be Taylor Swift, a known Kansas Jayhawks fan. Her appearance could potentially break viewership records for GameDay. However, considering the security risks and her busy schedule—including a 149-show world tour—the chances are slim. Nevertheless, college fans can dream.
Travis and Jason Kelce
This duo seems more attainable. Jason Kelce, a retired Philadelphia Eagles center, now works for ESPN, making his appearance likely. Adding his brother Travis, who has a bye in Week 6, would be ideal. There are some big matchups that weekend such as Ohio State vs. Oregon and Texas vs. Oklahoma, allowing the Kelces to choose the best location.
Tim Walz
With all the buzz around “Coach Walz,” it would be fascinating to see him in the hot seat. While his schedule may not allow for an appearance before November, the idea of him breaking down defenses while making picks is intriguing.
Noah Kahan
GameDay often features popular musical acts, and Noah Kahan fits the bill. Since Kahan is touring until mid-October, let’s get him to a game in the Northeast.
Jim Harbaugh
The former Michigan coach, now back in the NFL, might enjoy revisiting the college scene. With the Chargers having a bye in Week 5, Harbaugh could return to campus for the Michigan vs. Washington rematch, now as Big Ten rivals.
Caitlin Clark
This one seems like a no-brainer for ESPN, likely saved for a week without too many elite matchups. If Iowa remains ranked, hosting GameDay and featuring Clark, with the WNBA in the offseason, seems natural.
Snoop Dogg
After his successful stint with NBC during the Paris Olympics, Snoop Dogg is a compelling option for ESPN. Despite his previous college sports episode not being family-friendly, Snoop has his own bowl game this year. The Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl is set for December 28, making this a great scouting trip for him.
Channing Tatum
Channing Tatum, an Alabama native who grew up playing football, would be a perfect fit given his support for Alabama’s Crimson Tide. Get him on GameDay soon.
Addison Rae
The TikTok sensation and former LSU student has over 80 million followers. Bringing her to GameDay would certainly energize the crowd and meet college students where they are.
