50 Cent Criticizes Hurricane Chris Over Festival Comments

50 Cent has criticized Hurricane Chris for his recent video where Chris accuses the television mogul of not including any New Orleans artists in his Humor & Harmony Festival held earlier this month.

On Sunday, August 18, 50 Cent took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to respond to Hurricane Chris’ allegations that no New Orleans artists performed at his annual Humor & Harmony Festival in Shreveport, Louisiana.

In Hurricane Chris’ Instagram video, the rapper known for “Halle Berry” expressed his disappointment over the perceived absence of New Orleans talent at the festival.

“Hurricane Flex [smiley face open mouth emoji] boy ya s**t is wack, the f**k you think you @FredoBang [face with raised eye emoji] ya s**t gets no play in my ride. LOL,” 50 Cent posted in response to Chris.

Despite Hurricane Chris’ claims, his statement was incorrect. Several New Orleans artists did, in fact, perform at the festival. New Orleans legend Master P took the stage, along with emerging N.O. artists Big Fella Zil and Flamefari. Even Baton Rouge rapper Fredo Bang performed at the event.

In reaction to Chris’ claims, Fredo Bang posted a video on his Instagram Story, questioning, “Who the f**k I am then?”

50 Cent’s rebuttal arises from a video Hurricane Chris posted on his Instagram, in which the 35-year-old rapper appeared unaware that New Orleans artists were part of the lineup at the Humor & Harmony Festival.

Hurricane Chris, famous for his hit “A Bay Bay,” was particularly upset about reports that 50 Cent paid $500,000 to the Shreveport police for security at the festival. Chris argued that the money should have been used to book local New Orleans talent instead.

Alongside his video, Hurricane Chris also wrote an extensive message criticizing 50 Cent’s influence in Shreveport, Louisiana. He alleged that people around 50 Cent, even those from Shreveport, were gatekeeping and preventing genuine local engagement.

“The people around @50cent are from New York even the ones who live in Shreveport they are attempting to gate keep a person who could’ve really made a difference,” Chris wrote. “I challenge you to let me show you our community and the things that the rotten people around you have hidden. We are the fourth worst educated state in America, murder happens daily, and our youth is lost. None of the people around you know what the city needs, not even the fake non-profits but that’s another story.”

He continued, “We love you, but you have been led wrong by people with no community outreach except downtown. Your point man can’t name the neighborhoods in my city. I oboe you smart, bro. Everybody using you, you f**k with cats like @tonyyayo and OG @unclemurda, you gotta be 100.”
