8 Reasons Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson Won’t Reconcile

There’s a timeless saying: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Since her divorce from Prince Andrew, Duke of York, Sarah, Duchess of York, has experienced quite the rollercoaster ride. Right after their split, Sarah made headlines for having a staggering £4.2 million overdraft at the prestigious Coutts & Co bank. Against the odds, she managed to turn her life around and carve out her own path without compromising her lifestyle. However, even in her pursuit of independence, the Duchess has had one major advantage: she continued living in her marital home, the £30 million Royal Lodge, despite no longer being married to Andrew.

The pair chose to stay in the home to raise their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. Even today, Sarah continues to reside there. In a 2021 piece for The Sunday Times, Sarah shared: “I travel a lot, and I’ve always been able to make wherever I am home … When I’m in the UK, I’m lucky enough to stay at Royal Lodge. I wouldn’t call it my home as that would be presumptuous.” While she may hesitate to label it her home, the reality is that Sarah benefits greatly from her arrangement.

Sarah enjoys an excellent relationship with Andrew, which allows her to take full advantage of the amenities and comforts that Royal Lodge provides. At present, Sarah enjoys a unique status as a free agent who reaps the benefits of her past marital home. It’s hard to see why she would change such an ideal situation.
