‘9-1-1’ Season 8: First Trailer Reveals Shocking Bee-Nado Disaster

In the first teaser trailer for Season 8 of “9-1-1,” a swarm of 22 million killer bees descends on Los Angeles, ensuring the crew of the 118 will be exceptionally busy. The teaser includes an intriguing statistic that Buck (Oliver Stark) would find fascinating: “The average human cannot survive 500 bee stings.” Quite alarming!

Details on how this disaster will unfold are scant, but fans can rest assured that these courageous firefighters and paramedics are prepared for anything. They’ve already tackled challenges such as rampaging alpacas, stalker crows, and even a bizarre incident where a man was attacked by a shark on a freeway.

The opening episodes of Season 7 paid homage to “The Poseidon Adventure,” with Bobby (Peter Krause) and Athena (Angela Bassett)’s honeymoon cruise being disrupted by a tidal wave and terrorists.

Season 7 concluded with significant changes for the characters. Bobby was replaced as fire captain after reconsidering his retirement, while Eddie (Ryan Guzman)’s decision to secretly date a lookalike of his deceased wife caused a rift with both his live-in girlfriend and his teenage son, Chris (Gavin McHugh), who chose to live with his grandparents in Texas.

Meanwhile, Hen (Aisha Hinds) and Karen (Tracie Thomas) lost custody of their foster daughter, Mara, just as they were about to adopt her. However, Chim (Kenneth Choi) and Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) stepped in as Mara’s temporary foster parents.

Chim, who has experienced numerous near-fatal accidents since the series began, finally married Maddie in the final episodes of Season 7. Buck’s parents were also adjusting to the news that he is now dating fellow firefighter Tommy (Lou Ferrigno Jr).

Additionally, Bobby and Athena’s house was burned down by a Mexican cartel, adding to their challenges.

To prepare for the series’ return on Sept. 26, viewers might want to watch the 1978 disaster film “The Swarm,” starring Michael Caine, Henry Fonda, and Katharine Ross.

Season 8 of “9-1-1” premieres on Sept. 26 at 8 p.m. on ABC and will be available for streaming the next day on Hulu.
