‘AGT’ Fans Outraged, Demand Removal of Golden Buzzer Act – Here’s Why

Just because America’s Got Talent judges give certain acts the coveted Golden Buzzer, it doesn’t mean that these recipients are favorites among the fans. Recently, enraged fans demanded that one Golden Buzzer act get the boot from the show. So, what’s the latest on this?

America’s Got Talent was heating up, with the auditions officially in the books. Unfortunately for eager fans of the show wanting to get into the nitty-gritty of it all, host Terry Crews broke the news that the program would be on a break due to coverage of the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

This meant that the next phase of the competition would be delayed. Naturally, America’s Got Talent fans were not looking forward to the wait. Many viewers already picked their favorites during the auditions. At this point, it’s a matter of seeing which of those favorites has the potential to go all the way.

In recent America’s Got Talent scenes, a Golden Buzzer act took the stage once again. During the auditions, Japanese act Schumacher stole the show with their surprising horse act. The pair met in school in Japan, but, they clearly had a passion for their craft.

Their quirky act got the attention of the audience and the judges during their audition. With them dressing in costumes and contorting their bodies to look like wild animals, complete with masks, they initially made a good impression on both the audience and the judges.

So much so that America’s Got Talent judge Sofia Vergara gave the duo the coveted Golden Buzzer. Vergara called the duo “ridiculous,” but, they were ridiculous enough to get her Golden Buzzer.

Despite their warm reception when they got the Golden Buzzer, it seems public opinion has shifted when it comes to this comedic duo from Japan. Despite stealing hearts and minds initially, the luck seems to have run out for this duo.

During their recent performance, the judges were not impressed, and even Sofia Vergara seemed to regret her impulsive decision to give these two the Golden Buzzer. This time around, Simon Cowell gave the pair an “X” halfway through their performance.

Judging by fan comments, most viewers were not shy about the fact that they want Schumacher to pack their bags and go home.

  • One commenter said: “Well the act is a bit funny but they didn’t deserve the golden buzzer and the 2nd time they did this it wasn’t funny as much as the first time. Someone who actually worked harder should’ve got the golden buzzer.”
  • Another person said: “I don’t even know why they put this through the first time this is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen.”
