Al Roker’s Adorable Selfies With Granddaughter Sky Delights Fans

Fans are delighted by the “precious” photos that Al Roker shares on social media of his granddaughter, Sky, who recently celebrated her first birthday.

The Today co-host, who recently spoke about the joys of becoming a grandfather, was in Paris covering the 2024 Summer Olympics alongside Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie, and other Today team members. Back in New York on Saturday, Aug. 10, Roker, 69, enjoyed a morning walk with his granddaughter.

The father of three shared a set of selfies in a weekend Instagram carousel. The first image depicted Sky gazing lovingly at her grandfather, who returned the look with a broad grin. Only part of his face was visible, which continued in the next two photos. The fourth photo solely featured a smiling Sky, holding one of her feet while sitting in her stroller.

“My little Sky and me on a #vehiclefree Park Avenue during the #summerstreets program here in NYC,” Roker captioned his Instagram post, referencing New York City’s Summer Streets program.

In Manhattan, select streets were closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET on Aug. 3 and 10 and will be closed again on Aug. 17 for pedestrians, according to the New York City Department of Transportation.

Fans couldn’t get enough of the adorable photos in the comments. Many called Sky “a doll” and “cutie pie,” while others celebrated how clearly proud Roker is of his granddaughter.

With Sky having just turned 1 last month, other fans marveled at how quickly time has passed, with one fan noting she is “growing up so quickly.”
