Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria recently celebrated 12 years of marriage, reflecting on their journey together through the highs and lows. The 66-year-old actor expressed his sentiments in a heartfelt social media post, noting that despite the challenges, he wouldn’t change a thing.

“June 30, 2012. Although I fell in love with you the moment I met you, marrying you seemed like a dream,” Alec began his caption under a carousel of photos from their wedding day. He continued, “Good and bad. Ups and downs. 7 kids. (Plus Ireland, Andre and Holland.) Four dogs. Four cats. Despite some tough times for me, I wouldn’t trade any of it. Happy Anniversary. You are my gift.”

The actor’s post included a recent selfie of the pair which Hilaria also shared to mark the occasion. Hilaria’s tribute matched Alec’s in its depth of emotion. She wrote, “Happy 12 years of marriage, Alec…not only have there been joyful ups and sad downs that life inevitably brings, but we have also experienced everything from sideways, zigzags, tremendous love and also things that are so painfully and plainly backwards.”

She emphasized the importance of leaning on family and friends for support, adding, “We hang on tight…hold on to family and friends to source our comfort and energy. Lean in to gratitude to brighten every day. How lucky am I to have you and our children, Alec.”

Their anniversary celebration comes just before Alec’s manslaughter trial commenced on Wednesday, July 10. Nearly three years ago, 42-year-old cinematographer Halyna Hutchins tragically lost her life following an accidental shooting on the New Mexico set of the Western film “Rust” in October 2021. Hilaria and Alec’s brother Stephen Baldwin were spotted at the New Mexico courthouse to support Alec during the trial.

The trial began with the jury being sworn in and opening statements on Wednesday. Alec Baldwin has steadfastly maintained that he did not pull the trigger. However, Prosecutor Erlinda Johnson countered this in her opening statement, saying, “The evidence will show, ladies and gentlemen, that’s not possible.”

Defense attorney Alex Spiro argued, “This was an unspeakable tragedy, but Alec Baldwin committed no crime. He was an actor, acting. Playing the role of Harland Rust. An actor playing a character can act in ways that are lethal, that just aren’t lethal on a movie set.”

Jurors have been shown body camera footage from the moments following the incident, demonstrating Baldwin being approached by officer Nicholas Lefleur and the crew discussing the tragic event.

Initially, Baldwin was charged with involuntary manslaughter in January 2023. These charges were dropped three months later, only to be refiled earlier this year. If found guilty, Baldwin faces up to 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Despite the possibility of jail time, the Baldwin family plans to continue with their reality series. The series titled “The Baldwins” is set to air on US cable network TLC in 2025. Alec and Hilaria share seven children: Carmen, 10, Rafael, 8, Leonardo, 7, Romeo, 6, Eduardo, 3, Lucia, 3, and Ilaria, 20 months.
