Alec Baldwin Hits the Gym to Prep for New Reality Show

Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin is gearing up for his new reality series, The Baldwins, by getting into shape.

According to In Touch, Baldwin’s wife, Hilaria, is the driving force behind his new fitness regime. A source noted, “He can’t go on TV looking like a sack of potatoes, Hilaria won’t stand for it.”

Hilaria has reportedly taken charge of Alec’s fitness, waking him up at dawn for yoga and strengthening exercises. Additionally, Baldwin’s routine includes brisk walking on the treadmill and sit-ups.

The actor is also following a strict diet, avoiding sugar in his coffee and sweets. Despite the rigorous regimen, the source suggested that Alec is feeling the pressure. He longs for the days when he could indulge in food, take naps, and relax, but there’s no such luck while Hilaria is closely monitoring him.

The source implied that the recent trial concerning the tragic death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of Rust might have affected Baldwin’s health. “He’s let himself go in recent years, and with the horrendous trial behind him, there are no more excuses,” the source said.

In 2021, Hutchins was fatally shot on the set of Rust after Baldwin fired a prop gun he believed was safe. Initially, Baldwin faced involuntary manslaughter charges, but these were eventually dismissed due to withheld evidence. The set’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and received an 18-month prison sentence. First assistant director David Halls pleaded no contest to negligent use of a deadly weapon and was sentenced to six months probation.

The incident sparked a significant discussion on the use of firearms and safety protocols in film production.

Plans for the Baldwins’ reality show were announced in early June. The family shared the news on Instagram, informing fans that The Baldwins is slated to debut in 2025.

Following the announcement, reality TV veteran Jon Gosselin offered advice to Alec Baldwin. In an interview with ET, Gosselin advised, “Don’t do it. Only because you’ve already made it, you’re like an amazing, award-winning actor.” Alec has indeed earned his fame through notable roles in films like Beetlejuice, Glengarry Glen Ross, The Hunt for Red October, and The Boss Baby films.

Gosselin reflected on his own experience: “I did it for the money in the beginning ’cause I didn’t know how I was gonna support my family.” He also expressed some regrets, saying, “They [the kids] didn’t sign a contract, I signed the contract.”
