Ree Drummond’s oldest daughter shared an exciting update with her fans this week. Alex Drummond Scott and her husband, Mauricio Scott, first announced their pregnancy in June. Recently, they shared an adorable gender reveal involving their golden retriever, revealing they are expecting a baby girl.

Alex opened up about the challenges she faced during her first trimester. On Tuesday, July 23, she provided another update on Instagram Stories. She informed fans that she is now about 17 weeks along, which she noted is “almost halfway there, which is crazy.”

Alex mentioned that her appetite has finally returned, and she’s feeling “hungrier” than ever. She shared an exciting development about her pregnancy, revealing she felt her baby move for the first time.

“I definitely felt her move this week, a couple days ago, for the first time,” she said. “And every day since then, I recognize the feeling now.”

At first, Alex didn’t realize what the movement was. “But the more I felt it, the more I was like, OK, that’s definitely something different going on down there,” she explained. “So it’s very subtle, and honestly, I can only feel it when I’m like laying down, really looking for it. But that’s kind of a crazy thing.”

Overall, Alex says she has been “feeling so much better” as the nausea she experienced during her first trimester has subsided. She offered words of encouragement to other pregnant individuals going through similar challenges, saying, “Just know: It gets better. There is light at the end of the tunnel.”

The 27-year-old is eagerly anticipating her next ultrasound, which is scheduled for “a couple of weeks” from now. In the meantime, she is enjoying working on the nursery and building out a registry, activities she described as “fun, exciting things.”

“It feels so much more real now,” she shared in amazement. “It’s really happening.”
