Alexandra Daddario’s True Feelings on Her True Detective Nude Scenes

Filming nude scenes can be quite uncomfortable, even for experienced actors. For Alexandra Daddario, her first time appearing completely naked on camera was in “True Detective.” Fortunately, her scene partner, Woody Harrelson, made the experience much easier.

“He made the whole situation very comfortable,” Daddario shared with MTV News not long after the episode aired. “It wasn’t anything awkward in that sense. I tried not to think about it too much before shooting the more intimate scenes and just sort of did it. [Harrelson] has been there, done that. He’s Woody Harrelson. If there’s anybody that I was going to be comfortable with, it’s somebody like him.”

Daddario’s performance in “True Detective” appears to have paid off. Following her breakout role, she landed guest spots on shows such as “American Horror Story: Hotel” and “The Last Man on Earth.” She also secured a main role in the first season of “The White Lotus” and the lead role in the Anne Rice adaptation “Mayfair Witches.”

Her film career has also seen a boost. Daddario has appeared in movies like “San Andreas,” “Baywatch,” “The Layover,” “We Summon the Darkness,” and others. Reflecting on that controversial moment in “True Detective,” Daddario likely feels a sense of satisfaction with how things have turned out.
