ALF Child Star Found Dead at 46

Benji Gregory, the child star famous for his role in “ALF“, has passed away at the age of 46.

Gregory’s body was discovered on June 13. The cause of death has not yet been determined. According to TMZ, he was found in his car in a Chase Bank parking lot in Peoria, Arizona, along with his service dog, Hans.

Speaking to the outlet, Gregory’s sister Rebecca disclosed that he had been suffering from bipolar disorder, depression, and a sleep disorder that sometimes kept him awake for days on end. Those close to Gregory suspect that he may have died of heatstroke after falling asleep in his car.

Gregory appeared in all four seasons of the 1980s sitcom “ALF“, an acronym for “Alien Life Form”. The series, which aired on ITV in the UK, tells the story of an alien who crash-lands in the garage of the Tanner family. Gregory played Brian Tanner, the son of Max Wright and Anne Scedeen’s characters, alongside Andrea Elson, who played his sister Lynn.

Before landing the role in “ALF“, Gregory had appeared in various TV shows including “Fantasy Island“, “TJ Hooker“, and “The Twilight Zone“.

Gregory also voiced the character Biff Tannen in an animated version of Robert Zemeckis’s 1985 hit film “Back to the Future“. In the franchise, Tannen was originally played by Thomas F. Wilson.

In the following decade, Gregory joined the US Navy, where he was honorably discharged for medical reasons in 2005. After officially leaving the Navy in 2006, he married his wife Sarah.
