Ali Needs to Get Some Help

As the cast of Euphoria prepares for the much-anticipated filming of Season 3, Colman Domingo has something specific in mind.

The Academy Award nominee, known for his role as the recovering drug addict Ali on the HBO series, expressed his desire for his character to finally have a sex scene. Noting that he’s one of the few actors yet to have such a scene on the show, Domingo shared his thoughts on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy.

“I would like to see – because I’m like, ‘These young kids are out there having all this kind of sex,’ and I’m like, ‘I think Ali needs to get some this season,'” Domingo said. “I’d like to see what that is.”

This insight followed host Andy Cohen’s suggestion: “Do you ever go to [creator] Sam Levinson and be like, ‘Hey dude, let my character counsel Jacob Elordi a little bit. Let me get in there with him?'”

Domingo responded enthusiastically, “You know, Andy, I think that’s the pitch that you and I can make. I think the world wants that.”

In the Emmy Award-winning series, Ali serves as a drug counselor and mentor to Zendaya’s character, Rue, a troubled young protagonist. The show’s ensemble cast also includes Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, and Maude Apatow.

After facing significant delays due to the WGA/SAG-AFTRA strikes and the unfortunate death of actor Angus Cloud, HBO recently announced that production of Season 3 will commence in January. The primary cast are set to return, with the exception of Barbie Ferreira, and the new season will feature a time jump.

Sam Levinson, the show’s creator, described the upcoming season as a “film noir” where Rue will delve into what it means to be an individual with principles in a corrupt world.
