All 14 Surprising Deadpool and Wolverine Cameos

The upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie "Deadpool and Wolverine" is filled with numerous cameos, some already spoiled before the release, while others remain secret.

In total, there are about 14 notable cameos in "Deadpool and Wolverine." Let’s dive into some of the significant appearances while excluding returning Deadpool stars such as Morena Baccarin.

The obvious cameos include those previously announced or shown in trailers.

Jennifer Garner was revealed to return as Elektra. Garner originally played this role in the 2003 Ben Affleck-led "Daredevil" movie and later in a solo spin-off.

Dafne Keen‘s appearance as X-23 was disclosed in the final trailer. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently defended this decision.

Together, X-23 and Elektra are part of “The Others,” a team formed in the Void. This team also includes Blade (Wesley Snipes) and Gambit (Channing Tatum).

Both Snipes and Tatum bring a big surprise. Snipes portrayed Blade in a trilogy from 1998-2004. Tatum was once involved in a Gambit movie that never materialized.

“The Others” team up with Deadpool and Wolverine to battle Cassandra Nova’s (Emma Corrin) squad. They are left on the battlefield when Deadpool and Wolverine are transported back to Earth-10005. They likely reside in the Void until the MCU calls them again.

Two more Fox’s Marvel stars, Aaron Stanford and Tyler Mane, return as Pyro and Sabretooth, respectively. Juggernaut also appears, but his portrayal remains unclear.

Perhaps the most shocking cameo is Chris Evans. Interestingly, he returns not as Captain America but as Johnny Storm (the Human Torch) from Fox’s Fantastic Four series of 2005.

He hangs around for a bit but is eventually captured along with Wade (Ryan Reynolds) and Logan (Hugh Jackman). Cassandra Nova kills him, and the post-credits scene clarifies the events leading to his death.

Another big surprise comes when Wade searches for Wolverine. Though most are played by Jackman, including a short comic-accurate version, one scene shows Henry Cavill in a Wolverine-like attire. Wade jokes Marvel would treat Cavill better than DC.

Early in the movie, Wade pitches himself to Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) to join the Avengers. Favreau, who directed the first two Iron Man movies, reprises his role here. Despite his pitch, Wade is turned down by Hogan, signaling this scene takes place in the Sacred Timeline, as evident by Tony Stark’s heart on Hogan’s desk.

The Hulk makes a brief, non-verbal appearance, which might have been done to save costs, as Deadpool suggests. It’s unclear if Mark Ruffalo played the part or if CGI was used.

Chris Hemsworth’s Thor appears through archival footage from "The Dark World" when Deadpool is at the Time Variance Authority (TVA) office. Mr. Paradox (Matthew Macfadyen) accidentally shows Deadpool his future. The scene leaves Wade troubled, wondering why Thor is holding him as he dies. The mystery remains unresolved.

Where it gets murkier is during the battle with an army of Deadpools, all masked. You rely on voice to identify them. Lady Deadpool seems to be played by Reynolds’ wife, Blake Lively. Cowboy Deadpool sounds suspiciously like Matthew McConaughey.

"Deadpool and Wolverine" is the thirty-fourth movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the first team-up between the titular heroes. Picking up years after "Deadpool 2," Wade is leading a mundane life as a used car salesman for his friend Peter (Rob Delaney) and is no longer with Vanessa (Morena Baccarin).

When the Time Variance Authority recruits him, his world is threatened. He seeks help from Logan/Wolverine for his mission.

"Deadpool and Wolverine" is now in theaters.
