All Artists Who Have Headlined Concerts at Ford Field

Ford Field, which opened its doors in 2022, has served as the home of the Detroit Lions and become a noteworthy venue for various sporting events. Over the years, it has hosted a Super Bowl, WrestleMania, the MAC football championship, the MHSAA football and wrestling state championships, and the Quick Lane Bowl college football game, among other sporting spectacles.

The venue isn’t restricted to just sports; it also hosts some of music’s top-performing artists. Whether it’s Hip-Hop, Country, Metal, or Christian Rock, Detroit’s largest stage has seen a vast array of musical performances.

It’s not easy to headline a stadium tour, and the tour itself needs to make a stop in Detroit. As such, some surprisingly big names haven’t played at Ford Field. However, those who have performed there have captivated audiences ranging from 40,000 to 96,000 people.

Interestingly, in its 22-year history, Ford Field has only hosted 44 concerts. Some acts have performed back-to-back shows, though repeated appearances by the same artists are less common. This tidbit highlights how selective the venue has been when it comes to musical performances.

It’s a positive trend that concerts have become more frequent at the stadium. Before 2010, Ford Field had only hosted seven shows, excluding back-to-back performances. In contrast, there have been 13 concerts since 2020 alone.

Looking forward to 2024, two more concerts are on the event schedule. George Strait is set to make his debut appearance on July 13, and in August, Kenny Chesney will extend his record for the most performances at Ford Field.
