Amber Ruffin, Michael Ian Black, Roy Wood Jr. to Star in CNN’s ‘Have I Got News for You’

An American adaptation of the BBC’s Have I Got News for You is set to debut on CNN this September, featuring Amber Ruffin and Michael Ian Black as team captains.

This comedy panel series offers humorous observations, ranging from satirical to surreal, through a news quiz format. It features a rotating roster of guests, including entertainers, political figures, and comedians.

Amber Ruffin, known for her writing on Late Night with Seth Meyers and her own show, The Amber Ruffin Show, is looking forward to the new venture. “It is our hope that this show will take people from saying, ‘This is CNN,’ to ‘This is CNN!?!?'” she remarked.

Michael Ian Black, known for his role as Phil Stubbs on Ed, sketch comedy show The State, and movies like This is 40, will be another familiar face leading the team.

Comedian Roy Wood Jr., formerly of The Daily Show, will host the show.

“We are betting audiences will welcome the opportunity to laugh and find humor in this year of the unrelenting news cycle,” commented CNN Originals’ executive vice president of talent, Amy Entelis.
