AMC Series Coming to Netflix in August: Daryl Dixon & Fear the Walking Dead

AMC Network has signed a new agreement with Netflix that will bring several popular series to the streaming platform. This deal includes spinoffs from “The Walking Dead” and other well-known titles from AMC.

Starting August 19, thirteen of AMC’s original series will be available on Netflix. Currently, Netflix hosts all eleven seasons of “The Walking Dead,” a deal that is set to expire in 2027 but could potentially be extended.

“Fear the Walking Dead” is included in this new deal. This series, the first spinoff from “The Walking Dead,” started airing in 2015 and concluded in 2023. It was notable for featuring crossover characters from the original series and ran for eight seasons. All of these seasons will now be available on Netflix.

Also included in the deal is season one of “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.” This spinoff focuses on the character Daryl Dixon, portrayed by Norman Reedus, who ventures into France. Daryl was introduced in the first season of “The Walking Dead,” and this new series continues his storyline.

In 2025, two more series, “Dead City” and “The Ones Who Live,” will be added to Netflix. “Dead City” is the first direct spinoff of “The Walking Dead” and follows Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) as they navigate the perilous streets of Manhattan. “The Ones Who Live” is a much-anticipated series featuring Rick and Michonne, reuniting actors Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira to continue their characters’ stories after a long separation.

“The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” has been renewed for several seasons, with the second season set to premiere on AMC and AMC+ on September 29. Meanwhile, “The Walking Dead: Dead City” has also been renewed for a second season, which recently completed filming. This new season is expected to release in 2025.

Fans of “The Walking Dead” universe can look forward to these additions to Netflix as AMC continues to expand its catalog on the streaming platform.
