‘American Idol Auditions in Washington on August 19th’

“Idol Across America” is calling all Washington singers to audition! If you’ve got a passion for singing, now’s your chance to showcase your talent via Zoom.

We’ve all been captivated by “American Idol,” the platform that has launched stars like Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Scotty McCreery, Phillip Phillips, and Jordin Sparks. And let’s not forget Iam Tongi from Federal Way, WA.

In January, I had the unforgettable opportunity to guest sing on the Broadway stage in New York City. It was with the musical “A Beautiful Noise,” where Nick Fradiani, an “American Idol” alum, stars as Neil Diamond. It was a highlight of my life; Nick is an exceptional singer and a genuinely nice person. Nick competed on Season 14 of “American Idol” alongside Clark Beckham, another brilliant performer.

The entire cast treated me like a star, taking pictures and making me feel incredibly special. Their performance was breathtaking, and the entire experience was surreal!

We’ve all had our favorite contestants on “American Idol,” and sometimes it feels like we’re part of the competition. At least, that’s how I feel! Years ago, I once sent an audition tape for a show like “The Voice.” I never got a callback, but I didn’t give up on my passion for singing.

Singing has allowed me to perform across the Northwest and make a decent supplementary income. So, the takeaway here is to pursue what you love. Whether you succeed in one particular endeavor or not, the important thing is to keep doing what you love. Not every opportunity will work out, and that’s okay.

In the end, it’s about making engaging television. I know a fantastic singer from Washington who also tried out for “American Idol” and didn’t get a callback. This process is selective and often depends on the show’s needs for dynamic and interesting contestants.
