Ana Navarro Criticizes George Clooney for ‘Dragging’ Joe Biden After Exit

Ana Navarro has criticized George Clooney for his public call for President Joe Biden to step down, as expressed in a scathing op-ed for the New York Times. Navarro claimed Biden has been ‘dragged relentlessly’ over the past three weeks.

During a recent episode of The View, moderated by Whoopi Goldberg, the panel discussed Biden’s surprising decision to remove himself from the 2024 Presidential race. Navarro, 52, shared her unreserved thoughts about the situation.

The Republican political strategist admitted, “I was sad. As I’ve said many times, I love Joe Biden, and I’m grateful for his 54 years of career. Seeing him step back felt like watching a champion athlete retire, which made me nostalgic.”

She expressed frustration over the relentless criticism Biden has faced recently. “I hope those donors who criticized him come back with a big check now!”

Navarro specifically targeted the Ocean’s Eleven actor, saying, “George Clooney, contigo!” (with you), drawing laughter from the live studio audience.

Navarro continued her praise, saying, “I am grateful to his staff and to Jill Biden. They have faced numerous attacks but have remained part of a stable and steady administration.”

She added, “They took us out of the hell that was COVID and the chaos that was Trump. For that, I will always be grateful.”

Earlier this month, Clooney turned on Biden, demanding he step aside from the 2024 race, citing concerns about Biden’s ability to serve another term. Clooney argued that Biden couldn’t win the ‘battle against time.’ He also condemned Democratic leaders for ignoring signs of Biden’s declining physical and mental health.

In his New York Times op-ed, Clooney wrote, “I love Joe Biden. He has won many battles in the last four years, but the one battle he cannot win is the fight against time. None of us can.”

Clooney added, “Joe Biden is a hero who saved democracy in 2020. We need him to do it again in 2024.”

Clooney’s op-ed followed a record-breaking $28 million fundraiser for Biden that he hosted in June. During the discussion on The View, Sunny Hostin expressed discomfort with Biden being forced out but accepted his decision if made with family and close advisors.

Sara Haines also voiced gratitude for Biden’s service but challenged Navarro and Hostin’s view on party implosion, noting there is room for criticism in such significant matters.

Haines said, “Even George Clooney’s op-ed was touching and showed internal conflict. Those people were torn, too.”
