Angela Bassett Dazzles in Strapless Pink Top With Train at Disney Legends Awards

Angela Bassett brought a touch of regal elegance to the Disney Legends award ceremony during the D23 convention in Anaheim, California, on Sunday. The acclaimed actress and honorary Oscar recipient was honored by Disney alongside other luminaries such as Miley Cyrus, Jamie Lee Curtis, and John Williams.

For the special event, the “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” Oscar-nominated star wore a striking strapless Barbiecore-pink ensemble with a royal twist. The outfit included wide-leg, high-waisted pants and a strapless top with a flowing train, adding a majestic touch to her appearance.

As Bassett ascended the stairs to accept her award, the train of her top flowed gracefully behind her, enhancing her regal look. She completed her ensemble with dazzling, reflective platform heels that added to her glamorous presence.

During the onstage presentation, Ryan Coogler, the director of “Black Panther” (2018) and “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” (2022), spoke highly of Bassett. “She has always delivered incredible, larger-than-life performances that somehow remain incredibly real and tangible. What she does is truly a gift,” Coogler remarked.

The event also featured members of the Dora Milaje from the Marvel film series, and a video tribute to Bassett was played, including remarks from Coogler and Bassett’s husband of more than 25 years, Courtney B. Vance.

Bassett, who portrayed Queen Ramonda in the “Black Panther” films, was dressed fittingly for the D23 convention in her vibrant and elegant attire.

The D23 Disney Legends ceremony recognizes individuals who have made a significant impact on Disney’s legacy. “The Disney Legends Award is the highest honor our company bestows,” Disney CEO Bob Iger said. “It’s a celebration of talent, a recognition of achievement, and, above all, a sincere expression of our deep gratitude.
