Anthony Bourdain Biopic ‘Tony’ to Star Dominic Sessa from ‘The Holdovers’

Anthony Bourdain’s life is getting the big screen treatment.

Dominic Sessa, who broke out this past year in Alexander Payne’s The Holdovers, is set to star as the beloved food world icon. This feature film is being brought to life by New York-based studio A24 and King Richard outfit Star Thrower Entertainment.

Matt Johnson, known for the well-received Blackberry feature, is slated to direct. The script has been crafted by Todd Bartels and Lou Howe.

A24 is in talks to produce alongside Trevor White and Tim White under Star Thrower. Johnson and Matthew Miller are also on board as producers, with Emily Rose stepping in as an executive producer. A24 and Star Thrower recently wrapped up another project, Eternity, starring Miles Teller and Elizabeth Olsen.

Sessa is represented by CAA, Untitled, and Hansen Jacobson. Johnson is represented by CAA and Akin Gump. Miller also finds his representation with CAA and Akin Gump.
