Ariana Madix & Katie Maloney Sued by Ex-Chef of Something About Her Shop

Ariana Madix has been sued for the second time this week, and this time one of her closest friends, Katie Maloney, is also a named defendant. The lawsuit involves an alleged deal gone sour related to their West Hollywood sandwich shop, Something About Her.

According to court documents obtained by ET, chef Penny Davidi is suing the Vanderpump Rules stars. She claims they failed to honor a deal that would give her 10 percent ownership of the sandwich shop. The agreement, purportedly made in June 2023, stated that Madix, 39, and Maloney, 37, would retain 90 percent ownership, provided they promote the business. Davidi, in turn, was to oversee and supervise the culinary and restaurant operations as the chief operating officer and director of culinary.

In her court documents filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Davidi asserts that the deal included a monthly payment of $7,500 until January 2024, after which the rate would increase to $10,000 per month. She claims she performed substantial work and undertook significant tasks in her role. Nevertheless, Davidi alleges that Madix and Maloney backed out of the deal and is now seeking judicial intervention to enforce the agreement.

ET has reached out to representatives for both Madix and Maloney for comments.

Madix and Maloney opened Something About Her in May of this year. This lawsuit marks the second legal challenge Madix has faced this week. On Tuesday, Tom Sandoval filed a lawsuit against her, alleging she gained unauthorized access to explicit videos of him and Rachel Leviss on his cell phone. Sandoval also claimed Madix made copies of the video and shared them with Leviss and third parties.

The video, which Madix found on Sandoval’s phone while watching him perform with his band at TomTom in Los Angeles, was documented in the explosive season 10 finale of Vanderpump Rules. The incident revealed Sandoval’s affair with Leviss, effectively ending his nearly decade-long relationship with Madix. The scandal quickly gained notoriety and was dubbed “Scandoval.”

Two days after filing his lawsuit, Sandoval announced on Instagram that he was withdrawing it. The 40-year-old explained that his counsel had informed him that his cross-complaint was procedural and that the terms “new lawsuit” or “suing” had not been clearly articulated to him. He claimed he should have done more due diligence on the matter and, upon realizing the implications of his actions, removed Matt Geragos from his legal team.

Sandoval clarified, “In no way am I suing Ariana. The action against Ariana brought on my behalf is being removed. I hold no ill will or vindictiveness toward Ariana.” He concluded, “I hope to get through this case quickly, so that Ariana and I can both finally MOVE ON with our lives.”
