Arie Luyendyk Jr. Shares Negative Experience with Kelly Ripa

Talk show host Kelly Ripa is facing criticism for her alleged rudeness towards Bachelorette star Jenn Tran. According to Arie Luyendyk Jr., this behavior isn’t a one-off incident but a recurring pattern.

Jenn Tran appeared on “Live With Kelly & Mark” recently to promote her season of “The Bachelorette”. However, her interaction with Kelly Ripa took an uncomfortable turn, sparking outrage among Bachelor Nation fans and even some alumni.

Kelly Ripa met her husband, Mark Consuelos, on the set of “All My Children”, where their characters, Hayley and Mateo, became one of the show’s most beloved couples. During the interview, Jenn Tran shared her hope of also meeting her husband on television, mirroring Ripa’s real-life experience.

In response, Kelly Ripa retorted, “Those are not the same. We were both professional.” While insiders suggest the exchange was meant to be in good fun, not everyone saw it that way. “Bachelor In Paradise” alum Ashley Iaconetti criticized Ripa, suggesting she has an “ax to grind” with the Bachelor franchise. Interestingly, Iaconetti isn’t the only former Bachelor contestant who feels this way.

Arie Luyendyk Jr., known for one of the most controversial seasons in “Bachelor” history, also weighed in on the situation. Luyendyk’s season was infamous for his decision to break up with Becca Kufrin, his initial choice, and propose to his runner-up, Lauren Burnham. Despite the backlash, Arie and Lauren have been married since 2019, and Becca has found her happy ending with Thomas Jacobs, whom she met on Season 7 of “Bachelor In Paradise”.

Luyendyk commented on an Instagram post by Us Weekly about the controversy, saying, “I was always a fan of hers until I was the bachelor. Felt I had my back against the wall whenever I was being interviewed by her.”

Fans were quick to recall instances where Kelly Ripa appeared to show her disdain for the dating show, citing her unprofessional behavior during interviews with various Bachelor Nation stars.
