Arrests Made in Shooting Death of “General Hospital” Actor Johnny Wactor

Arrests have been made in connection with the shooting death of former “General Hospital” actor Johnny Wactor, according to law enforcement officials who provided updates to CBS Los Angeles on Thursday.

Details remain scarce regarding the number of arrests, as official reports are still pending. The Los Angeles Police Department is at the forefront of the investigation.

These arrests follow a press conference held just days earlier by Wactor’s friends and family in downtown Los Angeles, where they issued a public plea for help in identifying those responsible for his death.

Wactor, who was 37 years old, was fatally shot on May 25 in downtown Los Angeles. At the time of the incident, he had just finished his bartending shift and was heading to his car near Hope Street and Pico Boulevard. His murder occurred during an attempted theft of his catalytic converter.

More than a week ago, LAPD detectives released security footage stills showing three suspects along with a vehicle linked to Wactor’s killing, as they called for renewed public assistance in the case.

Frustration had mounted among Wactor’s family, friends, and the community as the months wore on without any significant leads regarding the three suspects, leaving the case unresolved. In June, Wactor’s close friend Micah Parker organized a march in downtown Los Angeles to heighten awareness regarding the circumstances surrounding Wactor’s death.

“We want anyone with any information to come forward,” Parker stated during the march.

The march commenced near the site of the shooting and concluded at Los Angeles City Hall, where participants voiced their concerns about violence and crime in the city.

“We want our city leaders, the mayor, the district attorney, and the city council to acknowledge that we have a serious problem so that we can take action and move toward safer streets,” Parker expressed at the event.

Two months later, during a press conference on Tuesday, Wactor’s mother, Scarlett Wactor, renewed her appeals to the public, urging anyone with information about her son’s murderer to come forward.

“I’m asking that anybody who knows anything, please come forward. It will aid me and his brothers in our healing to know that those responsible have been captured and convicted, and that they face the strongest penalty. So, I’m begging you, please call and provide any information you have,” Scarlett Wactor implored.
