August Schedule Highlights: Featuring “We Are Zombies”

SCREAMBOX is adding a diverse array of new content to their platform in August, featuring a mix of old classics and fresh originals. Whether you are a fan of spine-tingling thrillers, gruesome gore fests, or horror comedies, SCREAMBOX promises something for every horror enthusiast this month.

August 9:

The Fanatic – John Travolta stars as Moose, an autistic man fixated on movie star Hunter Dunbar, portrayed by Devon Sawa from Final Destination and Chucky. When Moose eventually meets Dunbar, their encounter spirals into chaos and violence. The Fanatic is directed by Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit fame.

August 13:

We Are Zombies (SCREAMBOX Original) – Based on the comic series The Zombies That Ate the World, this horror comedy follows Karl, Maggie, and Freddy as they navigate a zombie apocalypse by capturing the ‘dead-ish’ and selling them. We Are Zombies is brought to us by the creators of Turbo Kid and Summer of 84, RKSS.

August 23:

The Retaliators – Michael Lombardi plays Pastor John Bishop, who seeks revenge after his teenage daughter is brutally murdered. Distraught and abandoning his faith, Bishop is joined in his quest by Detective Jed Sawyer, played by Marc Menchaca. With appearances from musical artists like Tommy Lee (Motley Crue), Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach), and Zoltan Bathory (Five Finger Death Punch), The Retaliators is a gripping, bloody film.

August 27:

The Funeral (SCREAMBOX Original) – This Turkish horror film is described as a slow burn. It centers around Cemal, a hearse driver, who is tasked by a family to discreetly transport the body of a young girl. However, things take a supernatural turn when the supposedly dead girl starts showing signs of life.

August 30:

When a Stranger Calls – The original 1979 thriller, starring Carol Kane as a babysitter terrorized by an anonymous caller asking, ‘have you checked the children?’ The chilling part is the calls are coming from inside the house. A 2006 remake attempted to capture the same essence but fell short of the classic’s thrills.

August offers even more intriguing titles on SCREAMBOX:

In the Flesh – This British zombie series is a British Academy Television award winner.

The Call – Featuring horror icons Tobin Bell (Saw) and Lin Shaye (Insidious), this movie tells the eerie tale of an elderly woman accused of witchcraft. After her death, the young people who tormented her are forced to call a number that connects to a phone installed in her casket.

Gods of the Deep – A ‘Lovecraftian aquatic creature feature,’ where a submarine team ventures into a crater in the ocean floor and encounters bizarre beings.

The Girl Who Got Away – This suspenseful film follows a female serial killer who escapes from prison after 20 years and goes after the one victim who survived her attacks.

Nutcracker Massacre – A writer struggling with creativity visits her family for Christmas and encounters a life-sized, demonically possessed nutcracker.

Grab your popcorn and settle in for a month filled with horror delights, as SCREAMBOX brings a variety of chilling tales and nightmare-inducing narratives straight to your screens.
