‘Bachelor’ Star Madi Prewett Faces ‘Persecution’ for Her Beliefs

Madi Prewett was very open about her beliefs during her time on The Bachelor. Now, she claims that she’s facing ‘persecution’ on social media because of her religious views. Here are the details on her recent statements.

Madi Prewett was a memorable contestant on Peter Weber’s season of The Bachelor. Throughout the season, she frequently discussed her religion and her choice to remain a virgin until marriage. However, she ultimately decided to leave the show after Peter shared that he had been intimate with another contestant, Hannah Ann.

Peter went on to propose to Hannah Ann, only to break it off and try to rekindle his relationship with Madison. That attempt also fizzled out. Peter Weber later dated another contestant, Kelley Flanagan, but is currently single.

In early 2022, Madison revealed that she was dating Grant Trout. The couple tied the knot later that year and shared news last month that they are expecting their first child.

Since her time on The Bachelor, Madison Prewett has built a career as a social media influencer. She co-hosts the Stay True podcast with her husband, Grant. Many of the podcast episodes focus on their Christian faith.

Recently, in one of the episodes, Madison expressed that she felt “persecuted” online because of her religious beliefs.

“If I am being persecuted because of my love and devotion to Jesus and taking a stand for purity and taking a stand for justice and taking a stand for these things that are very counter-culture and very counter how our world is operating today, then bring it on.”

One Bachelor Nation fan shared a clip from the podcast on Reddit, prompting a wave of reactions.

Viewers of the show left various comments on Madison’s claims:

  • “I have several Christian friends who waited until marriage to have s*x. They didn’t make a big deal about it and truly NOBODY cared. She made it her entire personality. That’s why people think it was weird.”
  • “I’m a Christian, but the problem I have with her is that she’s literally profiting tens, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars from her faith. It’s sick and they are both hypocrites.”
  • “Online criticism isn’t persecution. Christians in America don’t know what true persecution for their faith is. You feel uncomfortable and hurt but it’s not persecution.”
  • “The persecution fetish these brand of Christians have is insane. No one hates you for being religious, people criticize you for being a judgmental, self righteous, hateful bigot. Which is literally the opposite of everything Jesus believed in.”
  • “I’m a Christian too, and Madi, honey, people don’t hate you because of Jesus. They hate you because of you.”
  • “Madi clearly fancies herself as some sort of Christian martyr, and lives in her own little alternative reality that is completely detached from actual reality.”
  • “She’s the type that makes people turn away from god smh she’s so unrelatable.”
