‘Bachelorette’ Emily Maynard Celebrates Jones’ Birthday, Calls Him ‘Warrior’

Bachelorette star Emily Maynard Johnson surprised fans when she announced the birth of her sixth child, Jones, two years ago. This year, Emily celebrated Jones’ second birthday with heartfelt posts and memorable family moments. Born with Down Syndrome and having undergone surgeries due to a rare congenital colon issue, Jones has shown incredible strength. Read on for more about Jones’ special day.

Emily took to Instagram to celebrate Jones turning two. Her first post featured Jones sitting cheerfully in front of a bicycle, exuding joy. “Happy 2nd Birthday to our warrior boy, Jones! We celebrated with a creeper trail bike ride in VA. It may have been more than we bargained for 🤦🏻‍♂️. Jones enjoyed it though!! Happy Birthday to our bright light! Love you so much, Jones!” she captioned.

Additional photos showed the family on their bike ride. In one picture, Jones is sleeping next to his sister in the cart attached to the bike. Emily also shared some videos from their cheerful bike adventure.

Emily’s second Instagram post was a collection of heartwarming photos of Jones with different family members, all smiling and enjoying the day. Her caption read, “Happy 2nd Birthday, my Jones West! You have brought immeasurable joy to our family and softened even the hardest spots of each of our hearts. You are so loved and treasured.”

In a follow-up comment, Emily expressed her admiration for Jones, calling him “absolute perfection.”

Emily Maynard Johnson, along with her husband Tyler, is raising a large and loving family. Apart from Jones, they share five other children: Ricki, 19, from Emily’s late fiancé Ricky Hendrick; Jennings, 9; Gibson, 7; Gatlin, 6; and Nola Belle, 3. Adding Jones to the family has enriched their lives in unexpected and wonderful ways.

Upon Jones’ birth, Emily was taken aback to learn that her son had Down Syndrome. The initial days were challenging, especially as Jones had to spend a month in the NICU following surgery to correct his colon. Despite the difficult start, Emily wouldn’t change a thing and is deeply grateful for every moment with Jones.

Reflecting on the joy Jones has brought to their lives, Emily acknowledged that she is incredibly thankful she didn’t stop at five children. Each day with Jones is a blessing, and he continues to inspire and uplift the entire family.
