Backlash Over Falling in Reverse Tour Addressed by Black Veil Brides Singer

Black Veil Brides frontman Andy Biersack has addressed the backlash from fans unhappy with the band’s decision to tour with Falling in Reverse.

Falling in Reverse’s frontman, Ronnie Radke, is a controversial figure in the rock world. His vocal opinions on gender identity have stirred significant reactions on social media, even resulting in a TikTok ban. This controversy has led to scrutiny of bands choosing to tour with Falling in Reverse, viewed by some as an endorsement of Radke’s viewpoints.

In 2023, Spiritbox withdrew from six shows they had scheduled with Falling in Reverse after significant online debate about sharing the stage with Radke. Radke responded to Spiritbox’s decision, expressing sympathy and remarking on the unfair treatment they received from some fans.

Recently, Biersack shared his thoughts on the situation when Black Veil Brides began their tour leg with Falling in Reverse. He commented on social media about the experience, stating that they have toured with many different artists and have generally faced a lack of enthusiasm from other bands’ fans. However, on this tour, they have received kindness and enthusiasm, which is a rare experience for them.

Reflecting on past tours, Biersack mentioned that during the Trinity of Terror tour in 2022 with Motionless in White and Ice Nine Kills, Black Veil Brides often faced negative reactions from other bands’ fans. In contrast, the current tour audiences who knew little about BVB seemed willing to give them a chance and have a good time at the shows.

Additionally, Biersack highlighted the positive interaction they’ve had with Radke, who went out of his way to show kindness, something uncommon in their non-headlining tours historically.

Biersack addressed the fans’ concerns directly, saying that they are free to decide whether or not to attend the shows. However, he criticized the notion of taking a moral high ground against him for touring with Radke. Biersack emphasized that his band’s participation in the tour is about sharing their music with more people who enjoy it, not endorsing any specific viewpoints.

As expected, Biersack’s statement received mixed reactions. Some fans expressed their disappointment, arguing that being treated well by Radke does not mitigate his harmful actions towards minority groups, many of whom are part of BVB’s fanbase. Others accused Biersack of overlooking Radke’s wrongdoings for the band’s benefit.

Conversely, some fans supported Biersack’s stance. They argued that the hate directed at Radke is unnecessary and that everyone is entitled to freedom of expression. They encouraged Biersack to stay true to himself and supported Black Veil Brides’ decision to tour with Falling in Reverse.

Currently, Black Veil Brides are touring with Falling in Reverse, with dates scheduled through most of September. For more information on their tour dates and ticket availability, visit the Black Veil Brides’ official website.
