Bad Bunny’s ‘Vete’ Is His 16th Song to Surpass 1 Billion Streams on Spotify

Bad Bunny’s hit song “Vete” has surpassed one billion streams on Spotify, marking his 16th song to achieve this milestone. This accomplishment makes Bad Bunny the first Latin artist to have over 15 songs with more than a billion streams. A Spotify representative confirmed the news to Billboard Español on Friday (Aug. 9).

Released in November 2019 by Rimas Entertainment, “Vete” was the lead single for Bad Bunny’s second solo studio album, YHLQMDLG (2020). The album’s title stands for Yo Hago Lo Que Me Da La Gana (or I Do What I Feel Like Doing) and has also surpassed ten billion streams on Spotify. This makes it his second studio album to reach such a significant streaming number after Un Verano Sin Ti. Among his 16 billion-streaming hits are “Dákiti” with Jhayco, “Tití Me Preguntó,” “Moscow Mule,” “Ojitos Lindos” featuring Bomba Estéreo, and more.

“Vete” captures raw and bitter emotions of a romantic breakup, blending them into robust reggaetón beats with Bad Bunny’s intense vocal delivery. The track features a hypnotic hook that resonates throughout, expressing the anguish and definitive end of a relationship.

According to a NoMusica report published on June 18, Bad Bunny is the third most-streamed artist on Spotify, following Taylor Swift at No. 2 and Drake at No. 1.

Beyond its streaming success, “Vete” achieved numerous feats on the Billboard charts. It peaked at No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs, Latin Airplay, and Latin Rhythm Airplay. Additionally, the song reached No. 33 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also received a Latin Grammy nomination for record of the year in 2020.
