Bebe Rexha Claims ‘Hate Crime’ Victimization for Speaking Albanian

Bebe Rexha claims she faced discrimination at a German airport, describing the ordeal as a “hate crime.”

The singer-songwriter posted videos of herself in tears at Munich International Airport. In these videos, she accuses a Lufthansa flight supervisor of threatening her and preventing her from boarding her flight.

Rexha explained that the confrontation started when she spoke Albanian to an airport security guard, assuming he spoke the language. This seemingly innocent act escalated tensions with the airport staff.

She firmly believes she was targeted because she is Albanian, and she further asserts that the discrimination persisted throughout the incident.

Bebe claimed the security personnel continued to “mentally abuse” her and flaunt their authority, while bystanders did nothing to intervene. She attempted to get the security guard’s name to file a complaint, but he refused to provide it.

Born to Albanian parents, Bebe learned the language at a young age. Her father is from North Macedonia, where both Macedonian and Albanian are spoken, and her mother also has Albanian heritage.

A Lufthansa representative told TMZ that they are in direct contact with Bebe to understand her side of the story. The airline stated that it connects people worldwide and is committed to diversity and equal opportunity.

Lufthansa affirmed that they do not tolerate any form of discriminatory behavior and promised a thorough investigation into the incident.
