‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ Trailer: Showtime Returns

In a year characterized by extended gaps between franchise installments, viewers are treated to another long-awaited sequel. Alongside *Twisters*—the follow-up to *Twister* after 28 years—fans of *Beetlejuice* are finally getting a sequel, aptly named *Beetlejuice Beetlejuice*, arriving 36 years after the original.

After decades of waiting, the return of Beetlejuice feels like a brief interlude in the grand scheme of the afterlife. Michael Keaton resumes his role as Beetlejuice, and Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara return as Lydia and Delia Deetz. Tim Burton also reprises his role as director, making this a significant reunion for the beloved ghost tale.

A new trailer reveals Lydia’s daughter, played by *Wednesday*’s Jenna Ortega, stumbling into afterlife troubles after uncovering a significant model in the attic of her house. This discovery forces Lydia to invoke Beetlejuice by saying his name thrice, bringing the mischievous ghost back to the mortal realm.

The film’s official synopsis reads:

“After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the afterlife is accidentally opened. With trouble brewing in both realms, it’s only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice’s name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem.”

*Beetlejuice Beetlejuice* is set to hit theaters on September 6. Following this, the year of much-anticipated sequels will continue with *Gladiator II* in November.
