Ben Affleck Allegedly Conflicted Over Jennifer Lopez’s Treatment of His Kids

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are reportedly at odds with one another amid their divorce. While many believed everything was fine in their co-parenting world, insiders suggest it’s not as it seems. Allegedly, Affleck hasn’t been in touch with Lopez’s kids recently, and no longer thrilled about how Lopez is treating his own children.

Insiders revealed to InTouch Weekly that Lopez has been showering Affleck’s kids with affection and gifts, something that Affleck is not particularly happy about.

“They have always had vastly different styles of parenting. Ben spoils them from time to time and gives them their favorite treats, but J. Lo really showers them with gifts like nobody’s business,” an insider told the outlet. “She’s very much a Disneyland stepmom. She’s always picking up treats for them, she always seems to know just what will make them happy and gets a real kick out of making them smile.”

The insider added, “She’s showing a lot of class, and it’s gone a long way to softening him towards her…[But] that’s just not the way he wants to raise them long term. It’s OK right now while they’re going through this tough time, but the last thing he wants is to raise spoiled kids so it’s a little tough.”

Essentially, insiders are claiming Lopez has continued to spoil both her own children and her soon-to-be stepchildren. At the same time, Affleck is concerned that his kids will become too accustomed to this treatment and expect it constantly.

Just weeks earlier, sources claimed Affleck had no issues with Lopez’s way of parenting his kids, but something seems to have changed drastically.

For those unaware, Garner and Affleck have three children together. Their names are Violet, born in December 2005; Seraphina, born in January 2009; and Samuel, born in February 2012. Lopez, on the other hand, is mother to twins Emme and Max, born in February 2008, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony.

Affleck and Lopez’s romance began on the set of the film Gigli. They worked together on several projects and got engaged by the end of 2002, according to People. In 2003, they postponed their wedding and then broke up days before the ceremony.

Fast forward to 2021, Lopez and Affleck rekindled their romance. A year later, they got engaged and married in a lavish ceremony. However, after months of speculation, according to TMZ, Lopez filed for divorce on August 20, noting the date of separation as April 26, 2024.
