Ben Affleck Dines With Matt Damon After Jennifer Lopez Files for Divorce

Ben Affleck was recently seen having dinner with Matt Damon just days after news of his divorce from Jennifer Lopez emerged.

Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on August 20, following their whirlwind rekindling of romance. The couple had initially called off their first engagement in the early 2000s.

On Sunday, August 25, Affleck, along with Matt Damon and Damon’s wife, Luciana, was photographed dining at the Los Angeles restaurant Toscana. The pictures were published by People magazine.

Affleck and Damon have been longtime friends, having co-written and co-starred in the 1997 Academy Award-winning drama “Good Will Hunting.”

While Damon, who married Luciana Barroso in 2005, has largely kept his personal life private, Affleck has often been in the public eye due to various personal issues, including divorce, allegations of infidelity, and struggles with addiction.

Last week, reports indicated that Lopez had requested to remove “Affleck” from her legal name, according to court documents. She is seeking to restore her prior name, “Jennifer Lynn Lopez.”

The certified date of separation listed by Lopez is April 26. The couple had married in an intimate ceremony in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022, followed by a grand wedding party in Georgia on August 20, 2022, exactly two years before Lopez filed for divorce.

Rumors about their breakup had circulated for months, particularly after Lopez had been seen attending several solo events in May, including press gatherings for her movie “Atlas.” Fans also pointed out that the couple spent this year’s Fourth of July and their wedding anniversary apart.

Lopez turned 55 last month, celebrating with a grand Bridgerton-themed party in New York, which Affleck did not attend. On the same day, Affleck was seen on the West Coast in Los Angeles, notably without his wedding ring.

Reports have speculated that the split might be due to Lopez embracing the media attention surrounding their relationship, while Affleck has been more reserved.

The singer financed her $20 million Prime Video musical film “This Is Me … Now: A Love Story,” released simultaneously with her latest album, “This Is Me … Now.” Alongside the visual album, Lopez unveiled a documentary titled “The Greatest Love Story Never Told,” shedding light on her relationship with Affleck.

The title of the documentary was inspired by a collection of love letters that Affleck had written to Lopez. She used these letters as the basis for her album, sharing them with songwriters at her home. However, it appeared that Affleck was not entirely comfortable with his wife disclosing their private letters in the documentary.

Before her split from Affleck, Lopez had been married three times. She shares her 16-year-old twins, Emmy and Max, with her ex-husband Marc Anthony. She was also married to Chris Judd from 2001 to 2003 and Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998.

Affleck was previously married to Jennifer Garner from 2005 to 2018. The former couple shares three children: Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12.
