Ben Affleck Purchases New House Without Jennifer Lopez

Ben Affleck has purchased a new house in Los Angeles without his wife, Jennifer Lopez, as confirmed by a source to Us Weekly.

Affleck, aged 51, bought the property on July 24 for over $20 million. The 6,247-square-foot residence features five bedrooms, five bathrooms, and a secure, gated entrance, as per a listing on Redfin.

It was previously confirmed in May that Affleck and Lopez, 55, were living separately. Earlier this month, another source noted that the couple was in a hurry to sell their joint home in L.A. The 12-bedroom mansion was listed recently, with the insider explaining, “They decided to list the house very recently, within the last week. Ben especially wants to be done with the house. He was never happy there.”

Neither Affleck nor Lopez have publicly addressed the rumors about their marriage or real estate plans. They have been spending considerable time apart and often go without their wedding bands during the summer.

“They can’t get on the same page [and] have been discussing divorce as an option,” a third source informed Us in June.

Affleck and Lopez, who were previously engaged in the early 2000s, rekindled their relationship in May 2021 after splitting from Alex Rodriguez and Ana de Armas, respectively. The Air director proposed to Lopez for a second time in April 2022, and the couple eloped in Las Vegas later that year, with their children as witnesses. Lopez shares her 16-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony, while Affleck shares his three children, Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner.

One month after their Las Vegas elopement, the couple renewed their vows at Affleck’s estate in Georgia. Interestingly, on their second wedding anniversary earlier this month, neither made any public acknowledgments of the occasion.

Despite the ongoing uncertainties, not all hope is lost for the couple. A source revealed to Us in July, “Jennifer suggested they just take time to figure it out.” The insider added that the couple is currently living separate lives. “They are going through so much individually and as a couple. They may take some time to see if this complicated moment can resolve itself and they come back to each other [as] better people.”
