Beresfold Ouverture Shoot; Jane Seymour Returns to ‘Harry Wild’

Bruce Beresford’s ‘Ouverture’ Kicks Off Australia Shoot

Australian director Bruce Beresford has started filming his new comedy-drama, Ouverture, in and around Perth, Western Australia. The film features Luke Bracey, known for roles in Elvis and Hacksaw Ridge. Bracey plays a successful stage designer who returns to his small Australian hometown to bid farewell to his dying mother. The cast also includes Bryan Brown, Susie Porter, and Celia Massingham.

Beresford, an Oscar-nominated director famous for movies like Driving Miss Daisy, Mao’s Last Dancer, and Ladies in Black, shared his ambition for the project: “When writing this story, my aim was to create an involving story, with a range of characters supplying considerable humor.” The start of filming was announced by the lead production company Ambience Entertainment and key backers Screen Australia and Screenwest.

“Bruce Beresford has built a career by creating distinctive Australian stories that connect with audiences and travel the world. With Ouverture, Bruce has created a moving family drama set against the spectacular backdrop of Western Australia. I can’t wait to see this talented cast and crew bring this authentic story to life,” said Screen Australia COO Grainne Brunsdon.
