BeyGood Donates $500K to Support Black Cowboys

Beyoncé continues to make significant contributions through her BeyGood charity. Recently, the superstar provided $500,000 in grants to Black cowboys at the annual Bill Picket Rodeo circuit.

In partnership with the longest-running Black rodeo association, this generous check will support the newly-created Black Equestrians Program. This initiative aids Black horse riders and ranchers, sustaining the rich culture they have preserved, all amplified through Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” era.

BeyGood announced this philanthropic gift at the rodeo’s Atlanta event on Aug. 3, as reported by USA Today. Moreover, the singer’s charitable arm also awarded $25,000 grants to four different organizations, including SC Black Farmers and The Black Cultural Enlightenment Society/Black Cowboy Festival.

For these organizations, encouraging Black youth to delve into farming, agriculture, and horse riding is crucial to their missions. With this new financial support from BeyGood, their programs can achieve new milestones while continuing to uplift Black cowboy culture.

Beyoncé’s embrace of her country roots and Black people’s contributions to country music shines in her new album. Since releasing “Cowboy Carter” on March 29, the “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer has invigorated a movement for Black individuals to celebrate their American heritage.

More recently, Beyoncé appeared in a new commercial for Team USA’s participation in the 2024 Paris Olympics, wearing her red, white, and blue cowboy hat. With a matching “USA” leotard, she emphasizes uplifting her community and country.

BeyGood also extends its support to Black entrepreneurship in various domains, especially those close to Beyoncé’s personal background. In celebration of her hair care line Cécred, Beyoncé distributed grants to Black-owned hair salons. She also promoted the education of Black hairstylists through scholarships for cosmetology students.

Furthermore, BeyGood remains dedicated to aiding Black entrepreneurs and business owners, and providing disaster relief to diverse communities. Detailed information on Beyoncé’s charitable efforts can be found on BeyGood’s website.
