Beyoncé is on the brink of achieving billionaire status, and her latest business endeavor could accelerate her arrival at that milestone. She’s launching a new whisky brand named SirDavis.

The announcement came from Beyoncé’s press site on August 19. The statement read:

“Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has joined forces with Moët Hennessy, a subsidiary of LVMH, to create SirDavis, a groundbreaking new whisky. This first-of-its-kind joint venture reflects the shared vision between Knowles-Carter and Moët Hennessy, two pioneers of culture and craftsmanship focused on the future of American whisky.

This unique product was years in the making. Knowles-Carter, a Japanese whisky enthusiast, sought Moët Hennessy to help craft a one-of-a-kind flavor profile representing her ideal whisky. Concurrently, Moët Hennessy was looking to deepen its presence in the American whisky market, making the partnership a perfect match between the world-leading luxury group and Knowles-Carter.”

The whisky is priced at $89 and is available for pre-order on SirDavis.com. It will hit retail shelves in the U.S. and select airports and stores in London, Paris, and Tokyo in September.

The SirDavis website provides detailed information about the whisky, including tasting notes that cover color, aroma, taste, and finish. The site also delves into the origin of the brand’s name, explaining:

“[Beyoncé] discovered that her paternal great-grandfather, Davis Hogue, had been a successful moonshiner in the American South during Prohibition. He would stash his bottles in the empty knots of cedar trees on his farm for friends and kin to find and enjoy. She quickly understood why her own love for whisky ran so deep. Her affinity for whisky was fated, and SirDavis was born. Four generations after Davis Hogue crafted whisky on his land, his legacy is honored.”

Beyoncé herself has commented, “I’ve always been drawn to the power and confidence I feel when drinking quality whisky, and I wanted to invite more people to experience that feeling.”
