‘Big Brother’ Host Julie Chen Moonves Backs Angela Murray for AI Instigator Power

A new power is about to make waves in the Big Brother Season 26 house, and Julie Chen Moonves has her sights set on a specific winner.

Following the fourth eviction of the season, Moonves revealed an upcoming twist—BB A.I. Instigator. Viewers will vote for a contestant to receive this power, which promises to stir up chaos inside the house.

In an interview with EW, Moonves initially expressed a desire for Quinn Martin to gain the power due to his gift for disruption. However, she later amended her choice, enthusiastically advocating for Angela Murray instead.

The A.I. Instigator is an artificial intelligence avatar that will speak unpredictable and provocative statements, leading to increased drama. Recently, Murray secured her second Head of Household (HOH) title this season. Yet, her power was quickly hijacked by Martin, thanks to his Deepfake HOH strength. As a result, Martin made the nominations for the week, with an A.I. avatar resembling Murray delivering the news.

Murray has notched a reputation as a chaos agent since winning the season’s initial HOH competition. Her unpredictable decisions have shaken things up considerably, making her a polarizing figure in the house.

Some spectators have even speculated that Murray might be a plant by the production team, intended solely to generate drama within the game.

“I mean, good idea,” executive producer Allison Grodner quipped in an interview with Deadline.

Producer Rich Meehan added, “She’s been so fun to watch, so unexpected. With all those things, I don’t necessarily blame people for wondering, because it’s been surprising and shocking along the way. But it is always funny, the conspiracy theories that are out there.”

The A.I. Instigator will be revealed in the episode airing Sunday, August 25th, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
