Billie Eilish and Finneas Back Harris to Stop ‘Extremists’ from Controlling Lives

Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas have recently shown their support for Kamala Harris in her presidential bid while strongly urging fans to vote early.

The Grammy and Oscar-winning duo delivered their message in a video posted on Instagram on September 17, coinciding with National Voter Registration Day.

“Today is National Voter Registration Day, and we are asking you to please join us in going to iwillvote.com to check your status and vote early like we do,” began Finneas, 27.

His sister, Eilish, 22, added, “We are voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz because they are fighting to protect our reproductive freedom, our planet, and our democracy.”

Finneas stressed the importance of voting, stating, “We can’t let extremists control our lives, our freedoms, and our future. The only way to stop them and the dangerous Project 2025 agenda is to vote and elect Kamala Harris.” Eilish echoed his sentiments, stating, “Vote like your life depends on it because it does.”

Project 2025 is a comprehensive document crafted by former aides of Donald Trump, with the endorsement of a significant right-wing think tank. It provides a strategic framework for Trump’s potential second term, outlining policies that include plans to expand executive power, replace civil servants with ideologically aligned appointments, roll back abortion rights, and adopt an anti-immigrant stance.

Eilish has been outspoken against Trump in the past, expressing her discontent with his presidency. After her performance at the 2020 Democratic National Convention, she remarked, “Donald Trump is destroying our country and everything we care about.”

The endorsement from Eilish and Finneas comes shortly after pop icon Taylor Swift publicly announced her support for Harris in the upcoming November election.

Swift praised Harris as “a steady-handed, gifted leader” and emphasized the potential for the nation to achieve much more under her leadership, which she described as calm rather than chaotic.

Regarding Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Harris’s running mate, Swift expressed admiration, noting, “I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.”

In response to these endorsements, Trump voiced his disdain for Swift, openly declaring his enmity in a post on his Truth Social platform: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,” providing no further context.

The Harris campaign later responded to Trump’s comments with a statement that humorously referenced Swift’s song lyrics. The statement, titled “Trump’s Bad Week (Taylor’s Version),” included a screenshot of Trump’s post about Swift.

Furthermore, the campaign critiqued Trump’s week, describing it as filled with “rambling, yelling, and constant conspiracy theories.” This overview included mention of Trump’s visit to a 9/11 memorial ceremony in New York, where he appeared with far-right activist Laura Loomer, known for espousing conspiracy theories about 9/11.

In a playful twist, the campaign statement remarked, “Call It What You Want, but It’s Nothing New for the Smallest Man Who Ever Lived,” incorporating titles of three Taylor Swift songs into their critique.
