Billie Eilish’s ‘Birds of a Feather’ Tops Global Charts for Third Week

Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather” continues to make waves, securing the top spot on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts for a third consecutive week. The track, which became her first number-one song on these charts two weeks ago, has solidified Eilish’s place in global music.

Alongside Eilish, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars make impressive debuts. Their collaborative track, “Die With a Smile,” jumps to No. 2 on both charts following its Aug. 16 release. This marks Gaga’s third top 10 entry on the Global 200 chart and Mars’ first. Furthermore, LISA’s “New Woman,” featuring Rosalía, enters the charts at No. 6 on Global Excl. U.S., indicating a strong performance.

These charts, which were introduced in September 2020, derive their rankings from streaming and sales data collected from over 200 territories. The Global 200 encompasses worldwide data, while the Global Excl. U.S. chart considers data from territories outside the U.S. Rankings are determined through a weighted formula that integrates official streams from both subscription and ad-supported tiers of audio and video music services, as well as download sales. Direct-to-consumer sales are excluded from the calculations.

“Birds of a Feather” remains at the top of the Global 200, boasting 86.4 million streams (a 1% increase) and 10,000 units sold (a 35% decrease) globally between Aug. 16-22. Its prior sales surge can be attributed to Eilish’s performance at the 2024 Summer Olympics Closing Ceremony on Aug. 11.

Meanwhile, “Die With a Smile” has made a remarkable entrance on the Global 200, with 75.1 million streams and 31,000 sold worldwide within the same period. For Gaga, this is her third top 10 hit since the chart’s inception, while Mars celebrates his first.

Other notable changes in the Global 200 include Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” slipping to No. 3 after three nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1, and Post Malone’s “I Had Some Help,” featuring Morgan Wallen, moving up to No. 4 following its earlier debut at No. 1 in May. Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” drops from No. 3 to No. 5.

On the Global Excl. U.S. chart, “Birds of a Feather” maintains its lead with 64.1 million streams (a 2% increase) and 5,000 units sold (a 30% decrease) outside the U.S. during the same timeframe. “Die With a Smile” follows closely at No. 2, with 48.2 million streams and 13,000 sold outside the U.S., marking Mars’ second top 10 entry on this chart and Gaga’s first.

Karol G’s “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” moves down to No. 3 from its peak at No. 2, while Carpenter’s “Espresso” falls to No. 4. Jimin’s “Who” drops to No. 5 after two weeks at No. 1 earlier in August.

Additionally, LISA’s “New Woman,” featuring Rosalía, debuts at No. 6 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, garnering 54.5 million streams and 10,000 units sold outside the U.S. between Aug. 16-22. LISA now holds the record for the most top 10 entries among BLACKPINK members, with four top 10 hits, matching the group’s achievements. Rosalía, on the other hand, celebrates her fifth top 10 entry on the chart.

Both the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts will be updated on Billboard.com on Tuesday, Aug. 27. While the top 100 titles are accessible to all readers on the site, the full 200-title rankings can be viewed on Billboard Pro, the platform’s subscription-based service.
