Bindi Irwin’s Emotional Response to Questions About Having Another Baby

Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell are the proud parents of young Grace Warrior, forming a high-profile family renowned for their ecological advocacy. While consistently emphasizing a lifestyle filled with education and outdoor exploration, Bindi has frequently shared updates on her daughter Grace’s upbringing via social media. However, a recent query about expanding their family received an emotional response from Bindi, leaving many fans deeply moved.

Bindi Irwin, the eldest child of the late Crocodile Hunter icon Steve Irwin, married professional wakeboarder Chandler Powell in March 2020 during a private ceremony at the Australia Zoo. The couple welcomed their daughter Grace exactly one year later. Despite their joy, a challenging health journey has had a significant impact on their family plans.

Active on social media, Bindi and Chandler recently hosted a Q&A session on the Australia Zoo’s official YouTube channel. During the session, they discussed topics ranging from dealing with grief—something Bindi and her younger brother Robert are familiar with after the loss of their father—to future plans for the zoo’s animal inhabitants.

The conversation took a poignant turn when the couple was asked, “Are you two planning on having another child?” Both wearing knowing smiles, Bindi remarked on how frequently they hear that question, to which Chandler noted it comes up “daily.” She then asked Chandler to begin their response before adding her own thoughts.

Chandler initiated by acknowledging the frequency of the question and touched on Bindi’s significant health struggles. “Bindi went through a big journey with endometriosis,” he explained, “and it was an absolute miracle that we had Grace. We love Grace so much and are reveling in every little moment with her.” He emphasized, “We are so happy with our little family of three.”

Bindi then took over to elaborate, urging caution in asking such personal questions. “Be careful when you ask this question,” she warned, “because you never know what’s happening in someone’s life or in a family’s world.”

She continued, “Everything may seem fine on the outside, but internally, a personal journey might be filled with challenges that you can’t even fathom. While we appreciate the kindness and good intentions behind the question, it’s also a tricky one for many who might not be able to have another baby or any baby at all.”

Bindi succinctly answered, “We feel very lucky to have Grace. She is our beautiful girl, but she will probably be our one child.” She added, “You never know… maybe we will be blessed with another little one down the road. That would be incredible, but yeah, who knows.”
