Blake Shelton Ends 23-Year Journey with Warner Music Nashville

Blake Shelton and Warner Music Nashville have announced their amicable split after an impressive 23-year partnership. Shelton, a well-known country star, joined Warner Music Nashville following the release of his second album, “The Dreamer,” in 2003. This album came after his self-titled debut, which was launched under Giant Records in 2001, a label later absorbed by Warner Brothers Records.

In the music industry, a relationship spanning over two decades is quite rare, making Shelton and Warner Music Nashville’s collaboration notably enduring. The separation appears to be on good terms, as both sides have expressed mutual respect and gratitude.

Blake Shelton shared his thoughts on the separation through an official statement. He reflected on his journey, saying, “I moved to Nashville when I was 17 to sing country music and get a record deal. Along with the support from Warner, my dreams came true, and then some. It’s impossible to name everyone who has had a hand in all the success we enjoyed, but a huge and heartfelt thank you to the Giant Records, Warner Bros. Records, and Warner Music Nashville staff and family.”

Warner Music Nashville also issued a warm statement, mirroring Shelton’s sentiments. They acknowledged the success and memorable moments they’ve shared with the artist over the years. “Working alongside Blake these past 23 years has been an honor and a privilege. Together, we’ve celebrated a record number of hit songs, sold-out tours, and award wins. Blake’s talent is undeniable, but that wit of his, and the countless moments of laughter he’s given us remind us how fun this business of music can be. While our time together has come to an end, we count ourselves amongst his biggest fans and are grateful for the ride with this true gentleman and icon.”

During their partnership, Shelton and Warner Music Nashville produced 28 number-one country hits. However, there is no indication yet about Shelton’s future plans regarding his music career or potential new record labels. The artist has previously indicated a preference for making individual songs rather than full-length albums, with his last album, “Body Language,” released in May 2021.

Given the multitude of projects Shelton is involved in, it will be interesting to see if he aligns himself with another label or chooses a different path. Regardless, this marks the conclusion of a significant chapter in Blake Shelton’s musical journey.
