Blink-182 Cancel Two Arena Shows and Release Statement

Blink-182 will be taking a temporary break due to an illness within the band, as stated in their recent announcement. This has led to the cancellation of upcoming arena shows in Kansas City and St. Louis.

In a message shared on their social media platforms, the band cited “illness” as the reason for the cancellations. The statement read:

Unfortunately, due to illness, we are unable to make it to Kansas City and St. Louis.

If you purchased through Ticketmaster, refunds will be issued automatically.

If you purchased from a third-party reseller (Stubhub, Seatgeek, VividSeats etc.), please reach out to your point of purchase.

We are so sorry and hope to see you next time.

Although the statement did not disclose which band member is ill, fans have observed that Blink-182 had to shorten their set in Milwaukee earlier this week because singer-guitarist Tom DeLonge was feeling unwell.

“Shout out to Tom for powering through the show and mad props to Mark [Hoppus] for stepping up to the plate and adding a bunch of songs he sings on the spot,” one Blink-182 fan remarked regarding DeLonge’s early departure from the performance.

Setlist.fm noted that Blink-182 informed the crowd they had to cut some songs from their setlist due to DeLonge’s illness. DeLonge apologized to the audience, explaining he could not physically complete the show.

With the weekend arena shows in Kansas City and St. Louis canceled, Blink-182’s next scheduled performance is on Monday, Aug. 12, at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena. This leg of the tour is nearing its end, with remaining stops in Columbus, Ohio, on Aug. 13 at the Schottenstein Center, and Toronto, Ontario, on Aug. 15 at the Rogers Centre.

The band will take a short break before heading to the Reading and Leeds festivals in the U.K., along with a few other shows to close out the month. Blink-182 will return to the U.S. for a fall festival tour, beginning on Sept. 27 at the Oceans Calling Festival in Ocean City, Md.
