Boyfriend Enlists Ice-T for Epic “Law & Order: SVU”-Inspired Proposal

Proposals are all about expressing love for the person you want to spend the rest of your life with — no pressure, right? Any pressure Tyler Dycus felt must have been channeled into creating the best proposal ever for Maddie Anderson, because you’ve never seen one like this before. Law and Order: SVU has been Maddie’s favorite show since high school, inspiring Tyler to plan a scavenger hunt proposal with that very theme.

The day started off like any other, with Tyler heading out to play basketball. Maddie was going to shop with a friend, but that changed when a neighbor set her down the path of a scavenger hunt. From her favorite coffee spot to the San Diego Zoo, Maddie found herself greeted by loved ones all over town. Each one was happy to lend a hand in getting her the clues to her next location. Her goal? Find Tyler by sundown. Oh, and did I mention that Ice-T gave her a clue, too?

That’s right — Ice-T, who has been on Law and Order: SVU for years, created a video to help Maddie on her journey. Talk about a clever way to use the website Cameo! This unbelievable surprise took place early in the day, truly setting the tone for what was to come.

“I have always been really obsessed with mysteries and puzzles and games,” Maddie says. “I think that’s why I’m drawn to shows like that, because I’m the one who’s already guessing the person who did it.”

As the night drew to a close, Maddie’s mom held her hand, leading them to the final location. But it wasn’t just any scenic area — it was the exact spot where Maddie’s late father proposed to her mom. Needless to say, this was the perfect spot for the scavenger hunt to end. “It meant so much. The most important thing to me is my family and friends. It was so special. There was so much love in one place,” Maddie shares. “It’s just so special that he took so much time to put together this whole day that was really curated to me and what I’m interested in. I hope everyone has their own version of that.”
