The upcoming Britney Spears biopic has the potential to be incredibly authentic, as the new owner of the singer’s childhood home is offering Universal Pictures the opportunity to film on location.

The current homeowner of the Spears’ family house in Kentwood, Louisiana, informed TMZ that she’s completely open to camera crews coming over to shoot scenes for the Britney movie.

The owner seems eager to facilitate this idea, suggesting she is willing to let the production company remove her furniture and bring in their own set pieces. This would be necessary to accurately recreate Britney’s childhood from the 1980s and ’90s.

Moreover, the owner mentioned she would be willing to move out of the home for the duration of the filming. However, she emphasized she wants to be financially compensated for this, which is standard practice in the film industry.

TMZ previously reported that Britney’s childhood home went on the market last November for $1.2 million. The owner still resides there while it is up for sale, and the house retains some, but not all, of its original furnishings.

The home still features the original dance studio where a young, starry-eyed Britney began her ascent to stardom. You can also find childhood scribbles on a wall, including a notable jab at Christina Aguilera, a message in concrete that reads “Love Britney,” and some artwork allegedly left behind by the pop icon herself.

It remains unclear whether Universal Pictures plans to film in Kentwood or recreate the house on a studio lot. However, the offer from the current homeowner stands.

In the meantime, Kentwood Mayor Irma T. Gordon told TMZ that the town has no issues with film crews arriving. In fact, they are hopeful the movie will boost local tourism.

Gordon revealed that Kentwood is planning to build a bigger and better Britney Spears museum. They aim to have it ready just in time for the movie’s release, although no release date has been announced yet.
