Broadway Meets the Beach Returns to Seaside Heights, NJ

One of the highlights of visiting Seaside Heights during summer is the array of fun activities the town hosts throughout the year.

During the time my wife and I lived there, we enjoyed the weekly beach concerts that the town organized each summer.

Seaside Heights is also bringing back the popular Broadway Meets The Beach event this summer.

If you’re not familiar with it, Broadway Meets The Beach is an entertaining event where Broadway singers perform on the boardwalk throughout the summer.

According to Shore Beat, this year’s Broadway Meets The Beach kicks off on Friday, July 12th at 6:30 PM.

This particular performance will be a Tribute Night to Glen Slater, a notable name in Broadway.

The fun will continue on August 2nd with a tribute to Chazz Palminteri, who is known for writing “A Bronx Tale” and “Bullets Over Broadway.”

Finally, Broadway Meets The Beach will conclude on August 30th with another tribute.

This time, the tribute will honor Lynn Ahrens, famous for creations like “Seussical,” “Ragtime,” and for writing the cartoon “School House Rock.”

I can only hope we get to hear classics like “Conjunction Junction” or “I’m Just a Bill” on that night!

Be sure to bring your beach chair to the Franklin Avenue Stage (where Broadway Meets The Beach has traditionally been held) to enjoy this free concert series this summer!

Additionally, there are several great shows lined up at the Garden State this summer.
